Haze

Haze. This past few days has been a haze. I've been sick the week before. Temperature for 5days. Was given MC on Friday(5/8), Monday(8/8) & Tuesday(9/8). Was asked to go for a blood test.

Due to workload, I had to go to the office on Monday as I had an appointment with our country financial controller(CFO) on tax for 2 of our legal vehicles. My appointment was postponed to the afternoon, where I waited until about 2pm to learn that she can only see me after she's done with the auditor. Blurry, hungry and tiredly, I went down to the foodcourt. Nothing interest me, but since my tummy is crying out loud to be fed, I settled for a plate of 'wanton kicap' - sat at one of the table with my running nose and cracked lips. I was trying very hard to swallow my food while trying to breathe using my mouth. I'm good at multitasking, but not this one.

Then, I saw somebody walking towards me. I've never talk to him before, but I know who he is. His name came popping to my mind. At the same instance my mouth says the name out loud. He looked surprised. Hiya? What have I done? Seriously, I panicked. He is not the most friendliest face. I thought that I'm going to die of shame. I guess nobody died of shame before, and I'm the living proof of that. Luckily he sort of knew who I am, a fellow blogger. Let just say, he is friendlier when he talked.

After lunch, went up, trying very hard to do some reconciliation of cash accounts. End up going back at 8:30pm.. On tuesday, I decided to take the MC and stay at home. People are so tense in my department and having a sick lady around wouldn't help.

Only on wednesday at 6:30pm, I was able to meet with the CFO and settled the tax. It felt that a big stone has been lifted off my shoulder. Relieved. I hope the haze will soon dissappear. Otherwise it worries me if my kids get sick again as we're just about to get rid of the chain of this viral infection.

One good news though, for our GI Jane buddies, I shed 2 kilos during the sick period. That counts, right?
