Mana Adeela? That's what I thought she would say. Adeela and Aqeela are identical twins, they were in one sac, sharing one placenta. Only a thin layer of "curtain" separate them for peek a boo in the womb. They were born premature, Aqeela being the smaller one at only 1.75kg. After three days in the hospital we had to leave Aqeela in NICU for her to gain the minimum weight of 1.8kg. Babies will lose weight before gaining, each gram she lost was heart wrenching, as it meant she'll stay away longer.
Every time I visited Aqeela to supply her milk, she opens her eyes and looks at me sadly. I can tell in her eyes that she missed us. Much. Very much.
At home Adeela refused to sleep alone, refused to be left in the cot. She will cry her heart out and can only sleep if I put her on my chest. She'll stay quiet for hours.
This went on until they day they re united.
Two years 7 months later they got separated again. Today Aqeela and I came back to Malaysia leaving Adeela in Doha. Aqeela had to undergo a small surgery. Today, Aqeela asked the question, "mana Adeela", but this time I knew. I know exactly what she wants to say. "Ditto", said Adeela. Adeela asked the same thing when she woke up in the morning. Yes they missed each other.
It's sad seeing them being apart. Please pray for Aqeela's coming surgery - and hurry back to each other's company.

Whatever is the surgery that Aqeela has to go through, my prayers to Allah swt for everything to go smoothly and have a quick recovery.
