Business - Sit or Squat?

How would you like to conduct your business? In an environment that allows you to do the business smoothly, of course! Everyone wants that. I do to.

OK! OK! I'm talking about toilet, actually. Globally and generally, there are two types of toilet in the world. One is where you are required to sit while doing your business and the other one where you have to squat. Forget about the one that you can use while standing. That one is not for unisex. I don't want to be labeled sexist!

Personally I think the 'sitting one' is more comfortable especially during the needing time where you have to do to your business longer than usual. It also come in various colours and pictures to suite your taste. But I guess the important factor above all is the cleanliness.

Though my preference is the ‘sitting one’, I would rather go to the ‘squatting one’ if it for public toilet. Do you noticed that if there are 10 toilets provided- 8 will be sitting ones & only two are the squatting ones? Most of the time, people will queue at the squatting ones though the sittings ones are available?

Reasons:
No tissues supplied. If tissues are supplied, in the hotels for instance, then you can use the tissues to cover the seat. Who knows what have landed on the seat before you?

Wet toilets. In Malaysia that is – we have wet toilets. If the seat is wet, will you be comfortable to land your thigh on the seat?

Dirty seats – shoe marks -mainly because the above two reasons – Malaysian prefer to squat rather than sit on the sitting toilet. This, can be seen at almost every public toilet – like a trademark for Malaysian toilet, I guess. The entailing problem will then be broken seats. Like when you are in love – somebody that you love step on you- leaving a dirty mark – that will leave you with a broken heart. (Hah! What a comparison…)

Maybe we need to plan ahead. Maybe change the proportion of sitting vs. squatting toilets – of course sitting ones are also important esp. for disabled. What say you? Sit or Squat?
